Crabbet Park gets renovated

Crabbet Park has been a historical mark on the map since the late 19th century, for their unique horse breeding farm, which brought the first Arabian horses to England. However times have changed, as have properties: and for this reason the Crabbet Park apartment blocks have had a well-deserved facelift.

With such a strong history, Traditional lead was simply not good enough for a standing seam roof, capable of resisting decades of kerosene pollution from jets using nearby Gatwick Airport - the only alternative - single ply roofing system.

Single ply roofing membranes purpose is to prevent leaks and shift water off of roofs, in order to avoid water damage to the building.

Roofing membrane systems contain materials that resist expansion and contraction, as well as reflecting much of the UV rays. Also, because these membranes either lack seams or have strong seams, what expansion and contraction does occur does not create leaks and breaks at these seams, unlike traditional roofing.

It was installed to new luxury apartment blocks in Crabbet Park, Crawley, by licensed contractors Atlantic Roofing as a cost effective and highly aesthetic solution, which unlike lead, would be unaffected by airborne pollutants.

The application was a swift transformation from lifeless and dull tradition materials to the installation of the new single ply roofing, which is being delivered world-wide offering a sustainable roofing solution for everyone.

Some 1,000m² of the roofing membrane in slate grey was provided by ICB, a leading specialist supplier of sustainable roofing products and solutions, together with the company's lead roll profile to produce a stunning standing seam design, for the luxurious apartments.

These apartment blocks have had well needed facelift, and potentially the roof will look fresh for up to 30 years, which cuts all maintenance costs normally associated with roofs. Perhaps these apartment blocks are applying this innovative technology in order to raise the bar for other apartments nearby.
