‘Carbon dioxide emissions are those stemming from the burning of fossil fuels and the manufacture of cement. They include carbon dioxide produced during consumption of solid, liquid, and gas fuels and gas flaring’
With only 8.8 metric tonnes per capita of carbon emissions, we are not the worst country when it comes to reusing and recycling, however we are not rightly the best either. Even though we are producing remarkably less carbon footprints in comparison to previous years, we are still providing a substantial quantity of pollutants that are sluggishly destroying earth.

Daunting as it sounds, everything has consequences and technology is gradually overwhelming our atmospheres. Conversely it was inevitable that climate change and global warming was going to occur, fuels such as coal, oil and gas has only sped up the predicted.

There are though simple steps that people can take in order to attain a greener lifestyle, and you have undoubtedly heard of them already.

Completely changing your useful regular boiler to a condensing boiler, is a job for the dedicated, no one wants to throw money at a new boiler, when their existing boiler is already doing the trick. However having a valuable cause allows consumers committed to such necessary precautions, such as environmentalists, they would blissfully either go without heating, or produce their own alternative energy source.

Considering climate change from an environmentalists point of view, merely changing to an energy efficient boiler, is only a simple step towards saving our planet. Is it as straightforward as people imply though? From the money aspect of switching boilers, the beginning investment is steep, however after barely 3 months; your wallet will see a return of money that was recently absent, plus a respectable profit.

Unfortunately not everyone has the financial services to buy a pristine boiler straight away. Recycling is an easy way to contribute to the reducing carbon emissions, and it is free: what can be easier? Instead of throwing food and plastic into your regular bin, construct a compost heap and put food in there instead. Plastic and cardboard can either be reused or put into certain bin bags…. it takes the same amount of time for you, but takes less time to sort.

Next time a bulb blows at home, don’t purchase the standard cheap and useless bulbs, buy the energy efficient light bulbs, which trim down your electric bill and last considerably longer.

Travelling to work uses the utmost carbon throughout your day; traffic causes cars to make more stops then those travelling an hour or two later, therefore catch a lift with someone who works with you or use public transport. Public transport can take you there faster during peak times, then suffering through frustrating traffic.

When you truly think about it, not only will you be saving the environment with these effortless steps, but you will also see more money in return, for a good cause. Although changing to a condensing boiler are not steps to be followed by everyone: other simple actions are not challenging to follow, and I am certain in time these steps are going to be just the norm. Make your statement, do your part, and money will soon return home.
